UME YOGA TEACHER TRAINING

Deepen your commitment to your yoga practice, experience spiritual growth and transformation, learn how to confidently teach yoga.

Our 200- hour Teacher Training is designed to lead you on a path of self-discovery and leadership.

Facilitated by Justin Toland, (E-RYT 200 – Frog Loutus Yoga; Yoga Instructor since 2013 with over 2000 teaching hours, massage therapist of 10 years – excelling in anatomy, posture mechanics, and the science of touch therapy). You will learn to teach a beginner to intermediate Hatha Vinyasa Flow class. You will be encouraged to keep your student mind as you become a teacher. To further explore yourself and observe personal attributes towards your development as a professional instructor. To enjoy the experience!

Facilitated by Gabrielle Williams (RYT 200—Laughing Lotus Yoga Center (SF); 50 Continuing Education (“contact”) hours at Laughing Lotus Yoga Center (SF), Yoga Tree, and Urban Flow; teaching since 2010), you will deepen your practice beyond what you thought was possible and leave being able to confidently and comfortably guide students through a yoga class (with equal amounts of compassion and expertise).

Facilitated by Jill Lindsay, (RYT 200—White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara, studying under Ganga White and Tracy Rich; 100 hour Therapeutic Yoga training under Harvey Deutch), you will learn how the skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular & respiratory systems relate to the asanas.

During our time together we will empower you to explore and discover your personal strengths in a (dually, caring and disciplined) environment through analysis of foundational Yoga texts; discussion of the ethics and principles of Yoga as both a philosophical and physical practice; instruction in hands-on adjustments and assists; dialogue concerning community building as well as personal development; and, ample opportunities for you to hone your skills by practice teaching!

Teacher Training Content

  • (Ashtanga Vinyasa, Bhakti, Hatha, Jnana, and Raja Yoga)
  • (Various forms of Pranayama (e.g., Bhastrika; Dirga; Kapalabhati; Sitali; and, Ujjayi. As well, forms of meditation such as Guided Visualization and Mindfulness)
  • How to sequence and create a life changing experience for students
  • Anatomy, injury prevention & management
  • Learn safe, juicy, effective assists
  • Learn the 8-limb Path of Yoga

Graduates will be able to register with the Yoga Alliance as a 200-HR RYT
